Dusklight on Mac: how to play Twilight Princess
Dusklight runs on a Mac. It is a native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, rebuilt from the game's decompilation, made by the Twilit Realm team. The current release, 2.0.3 (September 30, 2026), ships a Mac build (separate native builds for Apple Silicon and Intel). You supply your own copy of the game; Dusklight supplies everything else.

How to install Dusklight on a Mac
- Download the zip for your Mac from the releases page (or the official site, twilitrealm.dev; the project warns that other sites may be wrong) and unzip it.
- Move Dusklight.app into Applications, or install it with Homebrew: brew install dusklight. It is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning.
Dusklight on its official page: download only from there. Sites offering a version with the game already inside are pirated, and often carry malware.
The game file you need
Your own copy of Twilight Princess: any retail GameCube or Wii disc except the Korean Wii release. It reads ISO, GCM, CISO, GCZ, RVZ, WBFS, WIA and more; Wii discs play with the GameCube HUD.
Click Select Disc Image and choose your file. Dusklight checks it and starts.
What you get
- High resolutions and frame rates (the game logic still runs at 30 updates a second)

- A mod system with an in-game mod browser (new in 2.0)
- Dolphin GameCube saves can be copied in
Saves and settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/TwilitRealm/Dusklight/USA/Card A (EUR or JAP instead of USA for other regions).
